Using a pill organiser could save your life

Like many people who are getting on in their years, Charles had developed a few different chronic ailments. His doctor prescribed numerous different pills to help keep these conditions under control, and for a while this all worked fairly well.

Unfortunately, also like many others getting on in years, Charles started to experience some problems with his memory. Of course, the doctor responded by prescribing even more pills!

The pill organiser is made with a sturdy plastic case. It is compact and easy to carry around.  Open it up and inside you will find seven transparent plastic containers that are conveniently labelled with the days of the week in large print. You can cover these pre-printed labels up with your own labels if you want to use a different system of organisation.

Each container has four compartments, so you can store four different doses for each day. It makes it much easier to take the right pills at the right time, and also helps you avoid taking the wrong pills at the wrong time.

Use these enhancements for even greater security

Every modern smart phone allows you to set multiple alarms, so it’s a good idea to have one of these and learn how to use the alarms. Doing this will give you an alert every time you’re supposed to take some pills.

We also recommend keeping a journal detailing which pills you’ve taken and when. This will actually help you to not make mistakes and helps keep your mind sharp. It’s the same system the professionals in hospitals use to make sure their patients have received the correct medications.

Another advantage to keeping a journal of your medication usage is that if you later suffer a medical emergency, paramedics and/or doctors can use the information from the journal to determine your medication history. This may provide clues to assist in your treatment.
