Fighting Frailty with High-Intensity Interval Training (HIIT).
The University of Buffalo conducted a study with the purpose of determining if HIIT might help reduce frailty during the aging process. The results were published in the Gerontology Journal.
Frailty puts people at an increased risk of death and also for multiple chronic diseases.
The study’s results show HIIT boosts quality of life and your capacity to enjoy a healthy existence. In some instances it even helped to reverse frailty.

What is a HIIT?
So what is HIIT? It is High-Intensity Interval Training. Short bursts of intense exercises. Generally performed for a period of about ten to fifteen minutes, excluding a small warm-up. Don’t think for a second that HIIT means performing weird and wonderful exercises for 15 minutes. It could be simple as repeating a series of
Don’t think for a second that HIIT means performing weird and wonderful exercises for 15 minutes. It could be as simple as repeating a series of 3 exercises for 3 minutes each, resting for one minute and then repeating those exact exercises again. You could do 3 rounds. Additionally, you could just pick 3 of your most favourite exercises and repeat those. You don’t need to make exercise hard. I know that I definitely excel with exercise when I pick ones that are easy for me to perform but still increase my heart rate.
Now 10 to 15 minutes of High-Intensity Exercise seems manageable, right!
