Losing the use of one or your arms is a nuisance that nobody ever wants to face. You only appreciate what you had once it’s gone, but not having the functionality of a second arm poses a whole lot of more challenges than the loss of a favourite pair of shoes, for example. Those that must persist through the recovery process quickly realise that unless protected their weakened arm is constantly at risk. As such, an elevation sling becomes a necessary item to bring both comfort, safety and a sense of protection.

The Importance of Supporting Your Arm
Without an elevation sling, those that have undergone surgery, or have had a recent injury treated will find that they have very little comfort. The sling is there to support the arm while it recovers and keeps it in a position that ensures that it is adjusted at an appropriate height while being worn and is not in any immediate danger of incurring further harm, assuming the person wearing it takes precautions as they move about.
Those that follow the guidelines correctly as given by their doctor can expect things to gradually improve over time. The absence of the sling will likely only promote further problems, including aches, pains and discomfort. For those that are recovering from a shoulder injury, if the arm is slinging from the body like a dead weight, this can put a strain on the damaged muscles or joints or bones, which can limit the healing process and could potentially lead to complications.
The sling has been tried, tested and is trusted by millions of people every year for one simple reason; it is an effective way to carry your injured limb during the recovery process to ensure that once you are back in full working condition, there is no knock-on effect suffered that will require further treatment.
